About me. |
My name is Shivani Gupta and I am currently an Embedded Firmware Developer at Abaco Systems! I graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2019 from the University of Texas at Austin. It was there where I realized my immense interest in the embedded world. My first embedded project was building a wearable tracking device that had capabilities akin to a “Fitbit” with added temperature sensing. Since then I moved on to more complex projects and decided to make a career out of this passion.
My Experience
Embedded Firmware Developer, Abaco Systems Inc.
I am currently a Firmware Developer at Abaco Systems where I design and develop code for mission-critical products within the defense sector.
Student Design Engineer, Texas Inventionworks
Texas Inventionworks puts students in the role of innovators early by providing a welcoming, systematic pathway for them to learn, solve problems, develop products and, ultimately, launch ventures. As a student assistant I would train students on how to use equipment (CNC Mills, Laser cutters, Soldering, Machine software, Arduino). I aided students and faculty through the designing and fabrication steps for their projects.

Engineering Intern, VOLMO LTD
At Volmo, I worked on a project that focused on a patient-specific implant design and analyzed its mechanics. Analyzed the structural integrity of the implant with FEA, the final product was approved by orthopedic doctors.
Research Assistant, University of Texas at Austin
I applied visual tracking and mapping methods to scientific data tracking adapted to various environments. Helped develop a camera that would construct a 3D map of underwater surroundings from video recordings. I used C++ to customize the localization and mapping program in a Linux environment.
